Well I'm sure you've been wondering where I've been ! Not to worry, I haven't gone in to labour (yet) and am just hanging in there now & counting down the days, although it seems that my gynae in Nairobi, Kenya was a little out with my dates & my baby will now be born around about 02nd June and not 26th May as originally thought. (Any Mum who's been there will understand when I say that an extra week at this stage, feels like an extra month !!!!!)
The most important thing of course, is that the baby is born healthy and on time but I have to say that dragging this extra weight around is just about killing me ! I'm carrying 23 kg's (almost 51 lb's) more than my 1.68m (5'4'') frame is meant to and granted, I'm pregnant but heavens, I feel like an elephant at the moment !
My husband (the workaholic farmer, incase you're new to the blog !) has been delayed *ahem* much to my annoyance. Army worms eating the bean crops, a major disaster and of course it is terrible but I couldn't help screaming down the 'phone at him (pregnancy hormones and all that !) how on earth he could put worms above his pregnant wife ?! Not really fair of me as for the sake of a few days he could work around the clock to save the crop, and the fact that I am due later now it is not such a major thing that he get here a.s.a.p. so I have just told him that for each day he delays his arrival, I'll simply do more shopping - ha ha !
Exciting news is that next week I plan to meet one of my long time online friends and fellow blogger, and reader of my blog, for the first time - but I'll keep you in suspense for now and will no doubt be blogging about it soon !
The photo's above are of a flashy shopping mall we visited yesterday. It has mainly design/decor shops & I've been shopping up a storm buying new curtains, linen etc for my 4 year old's bedroom and our guest bathroom on the farm. (A total revamp is in the pipeline.) We stopped for lunch at the open air restaurant above before shopping a little more ......
Anyway, I do have some upcoming blog posts planned about the hotel we stayed at in Nairobi on our disasterous travel day, the place we are staying now (I'm officially - temporarily - a city girl !) and an interesting market I'm planning to visit on Saturday. Oh, and food of course. Lots of it. Have been eating out almost every day which is not at all good for the waistline - pregnant or not !
My Mum said to me today "Please do a blog post today, Lynda - although I am with you every day here, I still miss your daily posts and I'm sure your readers do, too !" so ...........
I'll be back soon, I promise ......................
