The long road home - the farm road leading to our house, with Mt Meru in the distance. This photo was taken by my Dad when they visited us for Christmas last year. The countryside is now dry and yellow as parts of the country face drought conditions
We're home - at last ! It feels WONDERFUL to be back on Tanzanian soil again and all is well at the house. Our staff gave us a 'royal' welcome home, and the animals went crazy - especially the dogs, who now won't leave my side & are following me everywhere (and whining through the windows when I put them outside the house !)
As this is unpredictable Africa, our trip home was an adventure in itself - flight delays, lost luggage - but at least we all made it in one piece and our family is reunited once again !
Tanzania is dry, dry, dry - seen from the air as we came in to land, it was quite a shock. Water is scarce and many people are starving, animals are dying of hunger and food is scarce too - I'll write more about it in a future post.
Thanks to everyone who came with me on this 3 month journey, it's been great having you all along with me each step of the way and my 'Inbox' is also overflowing with emails from blog readers - I promise to reply to all as soon as I have a spare moment !
I'll be back soon, can't wait to start blogging more regularly again and to share my life in Tanzania with you all again ;)
